Gayle
The village of Gayle sits astride a series of small waterfalls on Gayle Beck at the northern end of Sleddale just outside Hawes.
Just downstream of the main part of the village is Gayle Mill (pictured above in the middle distance, with the mill race in the foreground) - which has featured in the BBC's TV programme "Restoration".
