The Manor House

Now housing a museum, the Manor House is one of the oldest buildings in Ilkley.

Formerly known as the Castle, the current building dates from the 14th century and is medieval in character. Overlooking the river, the land on which it was built was originally the site of a Roman fort though little of this now remains. A short section of Roman wall however can be viewed in the grounds (pictured above).
