Raven Ray
Raven Ray is a bank of moraine left behind by the glacier which edged down Kingsdale during the last ice age.
The moraine effectively dammed up Kingsdale, and as the ice melted it is believed a large lake was left behind. This has long since drained however, with Kingsdale beck having breached the moraine in a deep cut ravine which leads on downstream to Thornton Force.
