Local Giving matched funding scheme launched to help charities in North Yorkshire and the dales
Localgiving.com, one of the UK’s leading online platforms for small charities and local community groups, and the Peter Sowerby Foundation have announced the launch of a £12,000 match fund campaign for rural charities in North Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Dales. This is part of a generous grant from the Peter Sowerby Foundation to Localgiving.com, used to benefit rural charities in the area through staffing and match funds.
From 16th -to 31st July 2013 (or until the £12,000 pot has all been allocated), eligible charities in North Yorkshire on the Localgiving.com platform will see donations matched under the terms of the scheme. Charities taking part in the match fund also go into a draw to win £500 if they attract three or more monthly donations, and Localgiving.com is also offering eligible charities a limited number of complimentary subscriptions to the website.
For the past few weeks, Localgiving.com has been running workshops for local charities across North Yorkshire explaining the benefits of the website and how the match fund scheme can double donations. A dedicated North Yorkshire Project Coordinator, Nick Dodd, has been appointed to manage the match fund "on the ground", and rural charities and community groups wishing to take advantage of the campaign should contact him on UK 07852 122329 or email: nick.dodd@localgiving.com
Details of the match funding scheme can also be found on the Localgiving.com website at https://localgiving.com/campaign/northyorks
