North Yorkshire Open Studios event details announced
In June 2014 a total of 126 artists will be opening up their studios as part of the North Yorkshire Open Studios project. This year’s event is brimming with creative talent – with basket makers and blacksmiths, potters and painters, photographers and printmakers, stained glass makers and jewellery makers, all opening up their studios for free to showcase their talents, sell their artwork and share their passion…
Venues include studios hidden away in unusual locations which unclude barns, farms, and stables, to country cottages, period homes and suburban apartments situated across North Yorkshire, from the remote hills of the Yorkshire Dales to the suburban streets of Harrogate, across the Vale of York to the rural North York Moors and the Yorkshire Coast.
Event Director, Rick Faulkner from Chrysalis Arts comments: "Whether you are an art enthusiast or just casually interested in art this is a fascinating day out. We are blessed with a range of inspiring landscapes in North Yorkshire, which help make our Open Studios one of the most spectacular open studio events in the country. This is a unique opportunity to meet artists, to gain an insight into how their work is produced, find out what inspires them and to buy high quality art and craft directly from them."
All the studios are open across two weekends, 7th - 8th June 2014 and 14th - 15th June 2014 from 10.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
Full artist details and pictures are included in the free event guide, available online at http://www.nyos.org.uk
