Pateley Bridge is a former lead mining village in Nidderdale, sitting at the arbitrary line between upper Nidderdale (to the north) and lower Nidderdale (to the south) respectively.

How Stean Gorge (near Lofthouse), Stump Cross Caverns (near Greenhow Hill on the moors between Nidderdale and Wharfedale) and Brimham Rocks (a series of fantastically shaped weathered rocks near Summerbridge).

Just outside Pateley Bridge is the Foster Beck Water Mill.
