Barbondale
A steep sided valley at the western edge of the Yorkshire Dales, Barbondale feeds in to the Lune Valley near Kirkby Lonsdale.
The Dent Fault runs along the dale, with the geology of the southern side being carboniferous limestone while the northern side presents older rocks similar to those found in the nearby Lake District and the Howgill Fells.
Casterton Fell overlooks Barbondale and the surrounding area, meeting the Lune Valley just beyond the village of Barbon.
