The Coast to Coast Walk

Alfred Wainwright's famous "Coast to Coast Walk" passes through Swaledale (pictured above) in the Yorkshire Dales en route from the starting point at St Bees' Head in Cumbria to the finishing post at Whitby on the Yorkshire Coast.

Besides crossing the Yorkshire Dales, this long distance footpath also passes through the Lake District and North York Moors national parks.
