Record breaking UK heatwave hits the Yorkshire Dales

Following on from a series of generally increasingly hot summers and the droughts of 2022 and 2025 exceptionally high temperatures have again been experienced in the Yorkshire Dales region and other parts of Yorkshire.

Only weeks after the spring heatwave which hit the UK in May the first heatwave of June and the beginning of astronomical summer saw the Yorkshire Dales area experiencing yet more extreme hot weather conditions.

Exceptionally high temperatures were recorded at different weather stations across Yorkshire and other parts of the UK with the June temperature record having being broken on three consecutive days running.

With data having been reviewed in early July it was announced that this was England's warmest June so far on record and follows a trend of generally increasingly hot summers in the UK.
