Rylstone

Rylstone is a pleasant village situated near Cracoe beneath Barden Fell and the twin skyline landmarks of Rylstone Cross and Cracoe Pinnacle in the Yorkshire Dales.

The village is famous for being the original home of the Rylstone Women's Institute - whose members achieved fame by posing nude for a celebrated charity calendar. Their story was made into a film called "Calendar Girls" starring Julie Walters and Helen Mirren (many of the outdoor sequences actually being shot at another dales village, that of Kettlewell in nearby Wharfedale).
