Swimming in and around the Yorkshire Dales

There are several swimming pools in and around the Yorkshire Dales area including municipal as well as independently run indoor pools at Ilkley, Skipton, Settle and Richmond (amongst others too).

There are also outdoor pools at Ilkley (pictured above) and Ingleton, though these are usually open during the summer months only.

With its numerous rivers and lakes the area provides some good opportunities for wild swimming (though this has its dangers so locations should obviously be chosen with care).
