Wild swimming in and around the Yorkshire Dales
With its numerous rivers and lakes the Yorkshire Dales area provides some good opportunities for wild swimming.
Popular spots include the river Wharfe at Appletreewick (pictured above), Loup Scar and Beezley Falls near Ingleton (and there are other possibilities with many other rivers, plunge pools and lakes in the area too).
Wild swimming obviously has its dangers so locations should be chosen with care, but there are also swimming pools for those who prefer swimming in a more controlled environment.
