The Wensleydale Railway
Starting at Leeming Bar (near Northallerton in the Vale of Mowbray) the Wensleydale Railway is a relatively recently restored line which runs up Lower Wensleydale with stations at Bedale, Finghall, Leyburn and Redmire near Castle Bolton where the line currently terminates. There are, however, plans to extend the railway to Hawes and eventually Garsdale where a connection to the Settle Carlisle Railway could possibly be made (thus restoring the route of the original line in its entirety).
