Simon's Seat

Simon's Seat is the rocky summit of Barden Fell which overlooks Skyredale and dominates the skyline above the picturesque village of Appletreewick in Lower Wharfedale

Several paths lead to the summit, but probably the most popular (and possibly longest) route starts at Bolton Abbey, taking in the so called "Valley of Desolation" and the waterfalls of Posforth Gill before ascending across open moorland to the summit and its spectacular views.
