Yordas Wood

Yordas Wood is a coppice just off the side of the single track road which runs from Ingleton to Dent along the valley of Kingsdale in the Yorkshire Dales.

Within the wood is the entrance to Yordas Cave, a former Victorian show cave.

A stream called Yordas Beck enters the wood at the top of a (usually dry) limestone ravine, but this cascades down a waterfall in to Yordas Sinks adjacent to Yordas Pot. This is the stream which crosses the floor of the main chamber in Yordas Cave which then disappears further underground to feed in to the Kingsdale Master Cave system.
